The Centre for People’s Justice is a coalition of over 45 organisations from community, business, philanthropic, cultural, artistic, charitable, legal, government and university sectors. It is led by the University of Liverpool Law School and hosted jointly at the Universities of Glasgow, London, Sheffield, Swansea, Wrexham and Ulster.

Funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, the Centre pursues change-making research that responds to the public’s need and desire for fairer, safer and more inclusive societies. Its work seeks to connect the public more closely with the ways in which the law is made, improve accountability for how the law is put into practice, and enhance people’s understanding and use of their legal rights

This Week

Our Values

EMPOWERMENT

The Centre seeks to empower people and communities. Our work is inspired and informed by the lives of those directly impacted by the issues we are seeking to address.

CARE

Our work adopts a trauma-informed approach. We recognise that social injustice creates and perpetuates trauma at an individual, community, intergenerational and structural level.

TRUST

The Centre cultivates creative and multi-sectoral collaborations in recognition of the fact that everyone has their part to play in achieving social justice.

ACTION

The Centre equips researchers with skills and knowledge to work alongside other sectors and disciplines to improve law in the pursuit of social change.

CHANGE

The Centre works alongside others to design and deliver research that can produce meaningful, positive change.
